I love weekend brunches with friends and family but sometimes it can be hard to find favorites like french toast that are safe under breakfast recipes IBS. I don’t always want to be forced to eat oatmeal, eggs or potatoes. This recipe is super easy and simple to make plus it is perfect for a lazy weekend morning.
What is your favorite brunch splurge? I also love a good stack of pancakes or crisp waffles.
Side note: I absolutely love this gluten-free sourdough bread from a San Francisco bakery named Bread SRLSY. I would order and have this shipped all the way to Houston until I reintroduced bakery style sourdough bread back into my diet.
Are you curious why sourdough bread is okay for some people that have gluten sensitivities? There is a great article from Monash University (the founders of the FODMAP diet), that explains how through traditional sourdough processing techniques there is a reduction of FODMAP content through fermentation.

Gluten-Free French Toast
- Prep Time: 4 minutes
- Cook Time: 6 minutes
- Total Time: 10 minutes
- Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description
There is nothing better than french toast on the weekend!
Ingredients
- 2 Pieces of Gluten-Free Bread ( I prefer Bread Srsly Sourdough bread)
- 2 Eggs, whites only
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Dash of Orange Juice (optional)
- Dash of FODMAP Safe Milk (I prefer MALK almond or pecan milk)
- 1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
- In a medium-size bowl, whisk all the ingredients together except for the bread.
- Dip each side of the bread into the wet mix until well coated.
- On a large sprayed pan, place the bread and cook on medium-low heat for 3 minutes on each side (or until golden brown).
Notes
Serve immediately with your favorite fruit and maple syrup!
