This time of year is my favorite for reflection and change as corny as I know it sounds. There is no bad time for self improvement and making yourself as fulfilled as possible. Most people are holiday’d out and ready for a detox by the time January runs around hence my wellness must-haves. For me, it’s more about maintaining my routine and also challenging myself in mind and body. I absolutely love swapping wellness tips and items with friends and family which is why I am sharing my wellness list with you! I would love to hear what your favorite must-have wellness items are for YOU! Please spill!
- Vegetable & Fruit Spiralizer – I absolutely love my spiralizer and I’ve been using it for years now. Not only is it inexpensive but you can use it in so many different way for both fruits and vegetables. One of my favorite ways to use it is by making zucchini noodles (be careful to keep your portion FODMAP safe). Check out this delicious zoodles recipe for more inspiration. 🙂
- Dry Measuring Cups – measuring portion size is SO important when you are on the FODMAP diet (especially in the beginning) to make sure you stay in the low FODMAP or green zone. Having easy to grab dry measuring cups is the most convenient way to measure portion size for foods like blueberries, broccoli, cereal, etc.
- Portion Control Containers – I am OBSESSED with these portion controlled containers to use when I’m bringing my lunch to work. These also are the most perfect food dividers to ensure your food does not touch. Plus, you can reuse these over and over again.
- Yoga Pants – these aren’t just regular yoga pants…they are HIGH-WAISTED yoga pants. I love the tummy support they give without being too restrictive. When you’re in downward dog, the last thing you want to be worrying about is if your underwear is sticking out!
- Podcasts – About a year ago I got really into listening to podcasts in my car and while at work. Instead of listening to background music, I’ve gotten so much more inspiration and motivation through podcasts. Lately, I’ve been really into Babes and Babies, The Goop, Him and Her Podcast and IGNTD.
- Korean Face Masks – I don’t know what I did before these sheet masks. Not only do they feel cooling on the skin but you don’t have to apply or mix together a mask. You put one sheet over your skin for 15-20 minutes and RELAX! No fuss!
- – of course, I have to have my book on this must-haves list! If you’re trying to get back on track after the holidays or finally ready to tackle why your gut has been so upset, this book is for you! I wrote this with my dietitian after going through my own “beginners” experience and I hope it helps you as much as it did for me!
- Yoga Mat – A yoga mat is an essential item when it comes to maintaining a fitness routine. I have one in my car, living room and bedroom as you never know when a mat is needed. I not only use my mat for at home workout exercises but also stretching and unwinding. I love this particular brand because of the quality and the assortment of different patterns. The price is cheap enough where you can easily buy more than one and not feel guilty! #namaste
- Fitbit Versa Watch – this is a recent purchase of mine that I made during the holidays and so far I love it. I didn’t want the feature of receiving calls and messages but instead my focus is on movement and exercise. I love how the watch reminds you when it’s time to move, has a relaxation feature as well as quick exercise videos all easily accessible. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s a pretty stylish watch too. 😉
- Insulated Water Bottles – I absolutely love using these bottles. Not only do they keep the water cold all day but maybe it’s just me but the cuteness factor helps me drink more water. Seriously….

Such a fun list of wellness items for 2019, Mollie! I just got a Fitbit and love the movement reminders, too! :)
Thanks, Emily! I do too, it really makes you more aware of how much or little you move!
