Do you remember my twinkie, Katherine from Deliberate Fare? She’s the one I met on Instagram (not creepy I swear) whom after our first meeting realized we were LITERALLY THE SAME PERSON! Trust me this deserves all caps. It’s crazy to think we hadn’t met previously since we both grew up in the same neighborhood, both in the SAME Junior League placement, same diet, same interests, the list goes on and on and on…. She’s also the one I did the FODMAP summer challenge with.
Anyways, back to the point of this post…Katherine sent me a picture of a Prinsesstarta Cake and told me her desire to bake this beast of a cake. If anyone can do it, it’s my twinkie!!!
We decided it was a no brainier to throw an intimate tea party with our wonderful family and friends to showcase the Princess Cake. Also who doesn’t like to feel classy and lady like every once in a while?!
Let me tell you a little secret about me…. I LOVE TO PLAN and I also love to entertain. Katherine & I met at Pondicheri for brunch last Sunday and once we had our notepad and Pinterest boards out, we were off to the races. I took on the decorating aspect of the party and went straight to my favorite two resources: Amazon and Etsy. My goal with throwing a party is to make it affordable but also fantastic. It is so easy to go crazy but with a little self control, it can be easily done. Luckily Katherine’s mom has a huge collection of tea pots and tea cups which was a huge cost saver.
Here’s a small collection of our photo inspiration for the party:

I will do a complete post after the tea party with full details. Katherine will also put a step by step guide to making this gorgeous cake! In the meantime please go over to Katherine’s post to read more about the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and also the charity we are going to donate too.
As they say at a tea party, tootles! (Okay, I just made that up but whatever!).
