Thai Turkey Burgers

Thai Turkey Burgers

Sometimes a girl just wants a good ole burger!  You can also feel good knowing that this as a low FODMAP foods recipe!  I stopped eating red meat over 10 years ago after being told it can be hard for the gut to digest. But looking back it happened even earlier as I was on a college budget and couldn’t afford it.

It wasn’t a hard transition for me substituting ground turkey for ground meat but it takes more of a skill set to make sure it’s seasoned well and has flavor.  Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean I stopped eating burgers altogether.  Instead of a hamburger, I switched to turkey burgers which for me is easier on my stomach.  Eating out at restaurants can be challenging as there is typically hidden garlic, onion and breadcrumbs premixed into the patties.   I knew I could make something just as good as a restaurant quality burger but without these FODMAP triggers.   I’m pretty confident that I nailed it with this recipe!  Recently I made these for my parents one night for dinner and I got a huge compliment from my Dad that went something like this: “For a turkey burger, this is quite good.”  Translation: “I thought this would be terrible but I would eat it again!”
