Description
A classic meat sauce recipe with FODMAP safe vegetables snuck in to add more nutrients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp green onions, diced
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 – 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes (garlic and onion free)
- 1 – 6 ounce can of tomato paste
- 1.5 tsp of dried oregano
- 1 tsp of dried basil or handful of fresh basil
- 1/2 cup zucchini, diced
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
Instructions
- In a large skillet add the olive oil and green onions and saute for a 1-2 minutes on medium heat.
- Add the ground turkey to the pan and brown while breaking up the meat with a spoon until cooked through (approximately 5-8 minutes).
- Lower heat to medium-low and add the remaining ingredients.
- Cover the pan and let simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve over your favorite gluten-free pasta!
